Study System

  1. The academic system is based on credit hours or their ECTS equivalent.
  2. The academic year is divided into two semesters:
    • Fall semester: 15 weeks, including exams
    • Spring semester: 15 weeks, including exams
    • An optional summer semester may be added, lasting 8 weeks, with double the number of study hours, including exams.
  3. The language of instruction is either Arabic or English, depending on the nature of the course and as determined by the Program Board.
  4. The number of credit hours required to obtain the Professional Diploma in Plant Clinic and Plant Health Technologies is 30 credit hours (60 ECTS). Each semester consists of 12 credit hours (24 ECTS), which are obtained from studying three compulsory courses and three elective courses, totaling 24 credit hours (48 ECTS). Additionally, 4 credit hours (8 ECTS) are allocated to a research project involving a free study in the survey and identification of plant problems. Moreover, 2 credit hours (4 ECTS) are earned from practical field training in the plant clinic, supervised by a program-appointed supervisor.
