The Faculty seeks to promote its performance, foster communication with research sectors, community service, environmental development, programs continuous development, and do surveys for society’s members and graduates on how to develop the programs and requirements that enable the graduates to serve society’s needs. The Faculty of Agriculture (SCU) is one of the faculties and education institutes that adopted the quality and assurance concept in higher education. The faculty introduced creating an internal quality project in the faculty in June 2004. The project was funded by Suez Canal University and the national committee for Quality assurance and accreditation. The project’s implementation started in January 2005 (second round). The faculty attained Continuous Improvement and Qualifying for Accreditation Project (CIQAP) in October for three years. The project was delivered in October 2012. According to the project, research laboratories, students’ laboratories, libraries, and lecture halls were updated according to the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.

 

Overview

 

In the frame of the strategic direction that the students’ affairs sector at (SCU) follows, which offers special services for the students using new trends in university education. The students' affairs sector created an academic advising unit for university students to activate the previous. The academic advising unit applies quality guidelines in the latest developed education systems to serve the educational process to support excellent students and enhance tripped and special needs students. Moreover, providing the academic support students need during their academic study.

With the help of the unit, the faculty can offer support and guidance for the students to take advantage of their abilities, work on developing their skills, and encourage them to master academically and innovate so they can graduate in the identified span. The students gained scientific experiences and practical qualifications to enable them to work. The unit gives attention to their psychological, health, and financial issues and works on solving them with the help of the academic guidance system work on providing advice and supports for students to confront their university challenges. Besides helping them understand and solve their problems. The unit helped in graduating a qualified generation skilled in science and knowledge to make decisions.

 

Vision

Creating a supportive environment in the university helps the students to excel and innovate and to establish positive relations between academic staff members and the students.

 

Mission

To provide support and care for excellent and creative students to enhance tripped students' standards and offer them needed academic advising to attain success during their academic study span and complete their educational program. Contribute to creating a scientific and social atmosphere in the faculty. Strengthen the relations between academic staff members and students. To promote students’ self-esteem that enables them to excel and innovate.

 Academic Advising Unit 

The farm works on achieving its goals with the help of the university’s support in attaining units’ goals in students’ education fields and training them in the research sector. To implement university, faculties, branches, and hospital projects. Moreover, fulfilling the needs of those areas from agricultural production. To get a license to offer works or services. 

 

The center aspires to produce seedlings for all crops and prevent them from infection by immunizing crops during the germination period.

 

The unit targets to deepen education and scientific research in the faculty. Provide support to different bodies in the agricultural sector governmental and private ones inside and outside the university.

The Academic Support Unit works on establishing an educational environment that focuses on the student and takes into consideration the individual variance in the learning process by offering various services and programs that enable the student to develop self-skills to gain knowledge. Those services include:

  • Academic advising and scientific pioneering through which the academic advisor can understand everything related to the student (educational- social- psychological) perspective.
  • Excellent and talented students this pillar encourages and helps students in developing their different skills besides giving them financial and moral gifts. 
  • Weak students, here we can understand their weaknesses and reasons, find various solutions to overcome those issues, and support the self-learning definition as a requirement for a successful educational experience. 
  • Disabled students, we don’t mean members with physical or mental disabilities, but we also mean members with vision, hearing, anxiety, and other psychological diseases who are categorized as special needs. They need special treatment to overcome those issues.
  • Organizing conferences, competitions, symposiums, and training to help students to finish the education process within scientific, intellectual, and interesting outframe. 

 

The faculty is keen on introducing available energy and learning potentials to serve its affiliated members to introduce the best human cadres, and the finest applied scientific research to follow rapid advancement in all educational fields to reach better life and future within the achievements and prosperity of our country witnesses in various areas. 

 

A new professional diploma specialized in the Plant Clinic area to graduate a specialist known as a "Plant Doctor". It is a detailed specialization in the plant field. Labour market and many graduates look for it. The diploma targets to enrich the graduate with environmental sciences, sustained agriculture, and integrated biological combat. 

 

The program contributes to graduating cadres being able to deal with the latest technologies regarding plant health and its relation to labour economics, keeping in consideration environmental policies and rules. This diploma is a result of mutual six Egyptian universities (Alexandria university- Mansoura university- Ain Shams- Suez Canal- Souhag- South Valley).

 

Through "Professional diploma in plant clinic and plant health technique) we look forward to achieving all educational and professional results concerning the postgraduate studies stage. In addition, all updates in scientific research to attain the desired goal by linking it to related research problems. I wish all students and our beloved Egypt success.

Continuous development of students and exams assessments in the faculty to advance the unit's activities to be an organizational entity has a positive impact on the faculty's excellency to reach a peculiar position among Egyptian and Regional universities. 

 

Mission

Settle educational and technological systems and methods in students' assessment to provide measurement services and assess targeted educational outputs of various academic programs in the faculty within the frame of equity, persistence, and methodology to achieve efficiency and competing ability of faculty's graduates. 

 

Goals:

The unit targets to ensure advanced mechanisms to assess students and exams that match The National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation standards to achieve faculty's mission and goals through:

  • Spread measuring, assessing, and training academic staff members, administrators, and students on assessment and exam systems.
  • Prepare question banks for courses and do training within the frame of targeted education results and the program's academic standards that serve the specialization. 
  • Develop exam assessment methods and adopt students' assessment systems using updated educational and technological tools to improve the educational process and ensure the quality of its output. 
  • Ensure students' assessment process quality and development for continuity.
  • Apply electronic exams and corrections for some courses.
  • Improve practical and oral exams.
