This program focuses on the fields of vegetable, fruit, and ornamental crop production. The program focuses its academic studies on basic sciences. Besides, studying general plant breeding, soil, water, economics, plant diseases, plant protection, rural society, engineering, and agriculture to meet the graduation requirements in this program.

Mission

The Horticulture program stresses offering unique education and learning chances to prepare and graduate professionals and researchers who can compete and contribute to developing the Horticulture results and focus on society and surrounding environmental problems to attain sustainable development. Moreover, focus on professional morals and preserving our identity.

Goals 

  • Provide the labor market with Agriculture Engineer specialized in Horticulture sciences who can plan agricultural systems matching with different environmental systems and global production. 
  • Prepare a graduate who can apply horticulture results systems according to soil and irrigation water type and specifications. 
  • Enrich the graduate with knowledge and skills related to different propagation processes of horticulture results, plant nursery management, and tissue culture laboratories.
  • Prepare a graduate who can improve horticulture results quality and decrease the harvest loss.
  • Develop graduate’s agricultural practicing abilities to produce horticulture results.
